The C.I.L.A. Agricultural Cooperative was founded in 1979. Today, it manages more than 1,100 hectares of farmland.

A lot of progress has been made from the first reclamation works to modern precision agriculture, but what remains unchanged is our strong commitment to people and the land: all agricultural activities are carried out following well-established cultural and regulatory practices.

Thanks to the combination of innovative tools (software technologies such as GPS equipment for agricultural machines) and minimum-till techniques, the Cooperative managed to achieve a good level of soil fertility without making use of chemical fertilisers or active ingredients.

In 2011 we decided to build a biogas cogeneration plant to support the transition to a green economy. The biogas cogeneration plant, fueled with corn silage and animal waste, allows to otbain methane gas to convert into electricity (1MW/h). The electricity produced is then fed into the national power grid.
